To all our ALFA Friends,

October brings our Annual Membership Drive.  Many of you may already be members of the Alpine Library Friends Association (ALFA); however, your current membership expires October 31.  Others of you may frequent our bookstore on a regular basis or enjoy one or more of the library programs that we sponsor, but haven’t as yet joined our membership rolls.  Even though the bookstore is currently closed due to the virus restrictions, we are planning to reopen just as soon as we receive County approval.  We are already planning to offer new programs and to purchase additional books and e-books.

 

Did you know …

 

          The Alpine Branch of the SD County Library serves approximately 3000 patrons a month

         

          ALFA sponsored over 90 different programs over the last year (pre-pandemic).  These programs included tots, K-5 students, middle schoolers, teens, adults and seniors. (Programs will resume just as soon as the County allows.)

 

          98% of all ALFA funds go directly to the Alpine Library.  These funds are raised through bookstore sales, membership dues and donations.

 

          ALFA volunteers contributed over 300 hours per month in 2019-2020.

 

Why become a Member …

 

          ALFA is a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization.

 

          Membership is only $15 annually and 100% of the dues goes directly to the library for books, magazine subscriptions and programs.

 

          The ALFA Bookstore offers a special Members Only ½ Price Sale every month which is not open to the general public.

 

          This fiscal year ALFA has allocated approximately $20,000 for programs and services for the Alpine Library.  Please help us meet our goal by joining our family of Friends.

Dues

  • ALFA's membership year runs from 1 November to 31 October.
  • Annual dues are $15 per person.

    (Second Friday & Saturday of every month)

  • A yearly accounting of how funds were spent and distributed
