Proceeds from the sale of books, memberships and donations are used to support and enhance the Alpine Library programming and purchase materials for the Alpine Library. The San Diego County Library provides matching funds for Alpine Library Friends Association donations to purchase additional best sellers, e-books, books on tape, periodicals and other items.

BOOK ACCEPTANCE GUIDELINES

We greatly appreciate your donations to help support the Alpine Library. However, we CANNOT ACCEPT:

Books that are very worn, dirty or smoky unless they are classic or antique books.

Magazines or Reader Digest books.
Encyclopedias are acceptable if a complete SET.

Time-sensitive genre over 10 years old (mostly non-fiction genres):

Science / Nature / Philosophy
Politics
Business
Education including textbooks or instructional manuals
Self Help including parenting, teen, behavioral topics
Health / Diet / Exercise
Travel Guide Books

VHS Tapes or Audio Books on Tape (DVDs are acceptable)
